LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police have charged a Louisville man after a counterfeit check drawn on the account of a business was cashed.

According to St. Matthews Police, the check was cashed on March 31 when Quincy R. Dunn, 21, presented it at a Fifth Third Bank on S. Fourth Street. The check was from the account of St. Matthews Imports for $996.25.

Police said the account and routing numbers on the check were correct, but it appeared that other information was blurry as if it had been photocopied.

Dunn was seen on bank surveillance video presenting the check and with his photo ID to the teller and receiving cash back.

St. Matthews police arrested Dunn on May 10 on one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
