PROSPECT, KY (WAVE) – A number of burglary cases in the Prospect area appear closer to being solved after a man was arrested over the weekend for burglarizing a garage.

A Prospect Police Department arrest report says the burglary took place around 10:25 a.m. May 10 in the 9700 block of U.S. 42. According to police, Tanner J. Munday, 18, used a knife with a window breaker to break the window of a door and enter the garage. Officers said the homeowner was inside the house at the time.

Police have tied Munday to two other cases of thefts from cars and say the charges he is facing are only the tip of the iceberg.

Investigators believe Munday is the person who took a computer and briefcase worth $700 from a car in the 6700 block of Tidewater Court along with a pair of optical Ray Ban sunglasses valued at $800 from another car in the 5600 block of Timber Ridge Drive. In total, police believe Munday is responsible for approximately 30 cases in which cars have been broken into.

Munday is currently charged with one count of burglary, one count of possession of burglary tools, two counts each of theft by unlawful taking, fleeing or evading police and  criminal mischief.
