Murder charges dropped against teen charged in Kroger employees death

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Murder charges have been dismissed against a man accused of shooting a St. Matthews Kroger employee.

According to court documents, charges against Aaron Cross for the murder of Jack Combs were dropped on January 21, 2014. The charges was dropped without prejudice, meaning they can be refilled.

Wednesday Cross attended a pretrial hearing for a separate incident after police said he robbed Gilmore Lane Liquors on January 9, 2014.

During the hearing Cross rejected a plea deal with a 10-year sentence.

Cross is scheduled to be back in court for another pretrial hearing on Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. A jury trial for Cross has been scheduled for Aug. 23.
