Indiana man gets life for molesting infant girl

HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced a northwestern Indiana man to life in prison plus 85 years for repeatedly sexually molesting an infant over a 14-month period.

U.S. District Court Judge Rudy Lozano on Thursday rejected a request by 40-year-old Christopher Bour for the mandatory minimum of 30 years in prison. He called the Gary man's crime too "horrific."

The Post-Tribune of Merrillville reports that Bour pleaded guilty in January to buying a child for sex, possessing child pornography and three counts of producing child pornography.

He admitted paying a Gary woman $500 to have sex with a 4-month-old girl in an arrangement that lasted until the child was 18 months old.

That woman also pleaded guilty in the case and is awaiting sentencing
