Intoxicated woman threatens family with handgun

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police arrested a woman for trespassing and threatening her neighbors.

On May 10, a father and his 18-year-old son were sitting on their back deck when they witnessed Tonja Hanlon, 46, drinking on the patio at her own home. Around 9:45 p.m., Hanlon entered their backyard with an alcoholic beverage and handgun.

Hanlon pointed the gun at the father and son, cursed and stated she hated Hispanic people. At this time, the wife and mother of the two men went outside with a baby. Hanlon pointed the gun at them as well.

The man instructed them to go back in the house. The son managed to call police during this time. Hanlon then tried to back out of the yard while continuing to point the gun at the family.

When police arrived, they noted Hanlon was intoxicated and secured the handgun.

She is being charged with wanton endangerment and criminal trespassing.
