LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man has been charged with cruelty to animals after the punched a dog in the face with his fist.
Jeffrey Mudd, 43, was issued a criminal summons to appear in court on the charge. The summons says the incident happened March 15 after Mudd was seen yelling at the dog to come to him because it was running loose.
A witness was able to get the dog to come to him after which it was taken by Mudd's mother. While she was holding the dog, Mudd took it and began to hit it in with his fist in the face. Mudd then threw the dog into a car and left.
The witness was able to get the license plate and provide it to Louisville Metro Police and Metro Animal Services. When LMAS spoke to Mudd by phone he admitted to spanking the dog.
