SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Bullitt County Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help identifying a man seen in surveillance video who's described as a "person of interest" in the death of a woman found shot along a gravel road on May 9.

Donesha McStoots, 21, was still alive when the owner of Knob Creek Gun Range found her bleeding and nearly naked near the business in the area of Highway 44 and Dixie Highway. McStoots, a Hardin County native, told Kenny Sumner she had been shot. Sumner rushed her to Southwest Hospital where McStoots died of her injuries a short time later.

According to Lt. Mike Murdoch, the man seen in the May 9 surveillance video from Jerry's Liquors near the gun range may have information about what happened to McStoots either before or during her murder.

"We're not calling him a suspect, just a person of interest," Murdoch said, "so we'd like either him to come forward or anyone that has information on who this may be to come forward and provide that to us."

The man is seen in the video wearing all white, leading deputies to believe he might be a painter. He was also wearing what appears to be a stars and stripes bandana. He may have a pony and is believed to be between 40 and 55 years old. He is believed to have been driving a dark blue or black pickup truck. Murdoch also said the man talked to another man while inside the liquor store. The second man may work for a tree service. Murdoch said the men appeared to know each other.

Anyone with information about the case should call the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office at 502-543-2514 or the department's anonymous tip line at 502-543-1261.
