SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man has been arrested for providing confidential information to the target of a Bullitt County drug investigation.

Lt. Mike Murdoch of the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office said Turner, who had been released from jail to seek treatment at Wayside in Louisville, had been making posts on his Facebook page about law enforcement and people who were possibly giving information about him to police.

During the investigation, Murdoch said police discovered that some of the material Turner was posting on Facebook came from an online source only available to police and prosecutors. Murdoch said Turner had posted a picture on Facebook that contained information from the site.

The investigation led deputies to Herbert Hall III, 26, of Shepherdsville. According to Murdoch, while Turner was undergoing treatment, Hall sent a message to him Turner Facebook telling Turner he could provide him with information about his case that even Turner's attorney could not get. Hall later sent Turner a file with the information.

Murdoch said Hall worked for Professional Office Services, a company that provides information technology services for the county. Offices served by Professional Office Services include County Judge-Executive Melanie Roberts and the Bullitt County Attorney's Office.

Murdoch said the information was accessed on Saturday, May 17 when Hall had access to the County Attorney's office to do tech work. The sheriff's office does not know whether Hall used a password that he found or accessed a computer that had been left logged on.

Hall was arrested May 21 on a charge of unlawful access to a computer.
