1 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash on Dixie Highway

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – One person was killed and a second person was injured in a wreck involving two trucks in Pleasure Ridge Park, according to MetroSafe.

MetroSafe dispatchers said the wreck was reported around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 4900 block of Dixie Highway, near Rockford Lane.

Louisville Metro police said the driver of a red and silver pickup truck was headed north on Dixie Highway when the truck crossed over into the southbound lanes and collided with the second truck head-on.

The driver of the red and silver truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other truck was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.

Police have not released the names of the drivers. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
