Behanan was cited for possession of marijuana on April 2. Louisville Metro police said Behanan was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by officers near the intersection of 17th Street and Broadway.

The officers said they smelled marijuana and asked Behanan if he had any drugs on him. He said yes and handed police a single blunt, or marijuana cigarette. Police searched the car and did not find anything else.

In December Behanan was dismissed from the UofL basketball team for a violation of university policy, but the policy Behanan violated was not released by university officials.
