JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – A man was rescued from the Ohio River after he was ejected from a boat.

According to Indiana Conservation Officers, shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday Stephen Conger, 48, dropped off the owner of the boat so he could get the trailer.

Shortly after officers said Conger lost control of the boat while accelerating and was thrown into the river. The boat then circled Conger three times before hitting a pier upstream of Duffy's Landing boat ramp.

The Louisville Metro Police River Patrol boat was able to pull Conger out of the water.

Conger was not injured and told investigators he believes his life jacket saved him.
