BOWLING GREEN, KY (WAVE) - The National Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park has begun laying the foundation for its track.
Workers started pouring the base layer of asphalt Wednesday and by Thursday nearly two-and-a-half miles of the first layer were already poured.
The track is just over three miles long and is expected to be completely poured by late June.
Mitch Wright with NCM Motorsports Park said, "This is an exciting time for us. It's an exciting time for Bowling Green. We're getting more and more interests now. It's amazing looking at our Facebook page. When we announced you know we started paving."
The park's grand opening is scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
