LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - There are times when it is hard to look on the bright side of life. As a matter of fact if you're in the middle of a storm, sometimes you can't even see the bright side. At the age of 13, Kaileigh Bryne and her family were right in the eye of the storm.
She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer right before her freshman year of high school. The diagnosis and the disease almost took Kaileigh's life and did take away her entire freshman year.
After five surgeries, chemotherapy and lots of prayers, Kaileigh was not only left the hospital but she left Louisville for one week for a dream come true. Make-A-Wish not only shows the way to a brighter tomorrow for children with life-threatening illness, they take them there.
