2. Mile-A-Thon: Today is the Make-A-Wish Kentucky Mile-A-Thon! 3. Bike to Work Day: Ditch the car keys and grab your helmet before heading off to work. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is encouraging people to ride their bikes to work today as part of his Healthy Hometown campaign.

4. College baseball: The Cats and the Cards both swing into action today at Jim Patterson Stadium on the road to the College World Series. Depending upon the outcome of today's games, the rival schools could play each other tomorrow.

5. Lights on: A movement is underway to honor murdered Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis by driving with your headlights on today. Ellis was gunned down one year ago this week in one of the community's highest-profile unsolved murders.

6. Thieneman arrested: Former Louisville mayoral candidate and developer Chris Thieneman will be arraigned today following his arrest for an alleged violation of an emergency protection order. Thieneman's ex-girlfriend is expected to testify against him in his upcoming trial for allegedly pushing and trying to strangle her.

7. Puppy recovering: A black lab puppy is recovering in Louisville after someone tried to decapitate him. The incident happened in Henderson County, KY.

8. ER visits: Area hospitals are encouraging people to go to an immediate care center instead of the ER for non-emergencies. That's because of increased ER traffic hospitals nationwide have been seeing since the Affordable Care Act went into effect.

9. LG&E fee: Metro Council members have moved one step closer to imposing on natural gas customers a $20 fee that Greater Louisville Inc. opposes. The budget committee approved the measure on a 4-3 vote on Thursday.

10. WonderFest: The nation's largest sci-fi hobby show gets underway tomorrow at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville.
