LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man is facing charges that he fled the scene of an accident after hitting a bicyclist with his car.
Louisville Metro Police were called to Southern Parkway and Florence Avenue just after 2:45 p.m. May 29. Witnesses said an elderly man with gray hair was the driver of the car that hit the bicyclist. According to a witness, the bicyclist head struck the car windshield and the cyclist was run over while lying on the ground.
The witness was able to get the license number of the car and provide it to police. Officers found the car and its driver, Raymond N. Curry, 78, of Louisville, at the address listed with in state records.
Curry was arrested for assault and leaving the scene of an accident. He told police he got scared after the accident and that's why he left.
The bicyclist suffered injuries to the head and body and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
