Wrong way driver arrested after fleeing police

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Metro police have charged a Louisville man who officers saw driving on the wrong side of the street.

An arrest report for Guy Andraus Stallard, 33, says the officers were on a walking patrol around 8:20 p.m. May 29 on Beechbrook Road when they saw Stallard go around another vehicle and drive on the wrong side of the street.

When the officers tried to stop Stallard he accelerated his car in their direction. Both officers were able to get out of the way of the car, but Stallard sped off.

After other units were alerted to be on the lookout for the car, it was spotted and stooped by an officer in the 4400 block of Newport Road.

Stallard was arrested for wanton endangerment, reckless driving and fleeing or evading police.
