LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Three Walsh Construction crew members had to be rescued by emergency personnel after their boat capsized in the Ohio River.

According to a statement from Mindy Peterson of the Ohio River Bridges Project, the three men boarded a crew boat around midnight to go after a safety boat that was floating away.

The crew members were thrown overboard when their boat capsized at the flood gates at the Falls of the Ohio.

All three men were pulled from the Ohio River by rescue crews.

The Clarksville Fire Department, Indiana DNR, Louisville Metro Police, Louisville Fire and Rescue and New Albany Fire Department crews all assisted in the rescue.

Peterson said two men went to University Hospital to be examined and one was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.
