Man accuses girlfriend of stealing wallet, stabs her in bathroom

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police say a Louisville man stabbed his girlfriend after accusing her of stealing his wallet.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 4100 block of West Broadway around 8:00 p.m. on June 2. They found a woman with a severe cut to the back of her neck.

According to the victim, her boyfriend, Keith Bailey, 52, accused her of stealing his wallet. She told him she didn't have the wallet. While in the restroom, Bailey attacked the victim, cutting her in multiple places.

According to the arrest report, police found the knife described by the victim. It was wet and had been cleaned off.

The victim was transported to the hospital where she received stitches.

Bailey is being charged with assault and tampering with physical evidence.
