LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - What you measure you will get.
In the case of teacher attendance in Jefferson County Public Schools this year, teacher attendance is part of a broad evaluation measure describing competency and factors into employee promotions.
But most of all, it is measured with the student in mind. Keeping teachers in the classrooms helps students be successful.
As the school year wraps up, JCPS teachers get an "A" grade for attendance and deserve to be applauded.
There are nearly 5,800 teachers in the system, with one out of every five having perfect attendance and half missing between four and 10 days.
Louisville ranks among the best in the country in these measurements – 96 percent overall.
Just because school is out doesn't mean learning stops for teachers, as many plan enrichment study to be more effective in the classroom next year.
We appreciate all teachers throughout Greater Louisville in public and private schools who strive for excellence daily with their students. You make the biggest impact on our community!
