Domestic assault chase suspect identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The who led police on a chase after he stabbed a woman has been identified.

Daymond Laron Malone, 40, is charged with stabbing a woman three times and forcing her to drive him around. The woman was able to escape at a Valero station at 3300 Algonquin Parkway and call police.

Malone took off in the Jeep and later crashed it on Greenwood Road near Pleasure Ridge Park High school and fled. Louisville Metro Police arrested Malone after a short chase. The crash damaged a utility pole and a parked vehicle.

Malone and the woman he stabbed were taken to University Hospital for treatment of their injuries. After treatment, Malone was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of assault, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief.
