SIMPSONVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A detour is in place as both lanes of Interstate 64 westbound are shut down just outside of Simpsonville, Kentucky after a semi overturned Sunday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police said a tractor trailer hauling plywood crashed at the 28 mile marker of I-64 W just before 2:30 p.m.
The trailer's cargo was scattered across the westbound lanes of the interstate. A diesel tank was also torn from the vehicle, landing in a nearby creek.
No other vehicles were involved, and no one was injured in the crash.
Drivers are being detoured from the interstate at Exit 32, which is Taylorsville Road. They can re-enter at Exit 28, just past the crash site.
KSP said lane closures are expected to last until at least 11 p.m. Sunday during cleanup.
An investigation into what caused the wreck is ongoing.
