Corrections employee accused of smuggling drugs

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Kentucky Department of Corrections employee was arrested and charged with conspiracy to traffic in controlled substances.

According to a press release, Robert Massie, 45, was suspected of bringing narcotics and other dangerous contraband into Luther Luckett Correctional Complex. An investigation began on June 6.

An arrest reports says undercover police met with Massie on June 8 in a Walmart parking lot. He accepted $1,000 to smuggle an ounce of crystal meth and 200 tablets of buprenorphine into the complex. Oldham County Police searched his home and found two firearms and a small amount of marijuana.

Massie admitted to at least five other instances of bribery for contraband.

He is being charged with drug trafficking, bribery and official misconduct.
