LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have charged a man with kidnapping and robbery after he abducted a woman while she was at a gas station.

Jorohn Wardail Johnson, 33, of Louisville, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. June 9 after officers were called about a street robbery that had taken place at 26th and Muhammad Ali Boulevard. A woman told officers she was at a gas station when a man, later identified as Johnson, she didn't know jumped into the back seat of her car. The police report says Johnson threatened his victim and told her to drive. The victim said she didn't know if Johnson had a weapon.

After driving to the 2500 block of W. Jefferson, the report says Johnson got out of the car, opened the driver's side door and demanded the woman give him all her money. When Johnson grabbed the woman's purse, the two began fighting. The woman was hit by Johnson several times in the face but she managed to bit him in the upper arm.

A person driving by saw Johnson on top of the woman hitting her and yelled for him to stop. Johnson then fled. The victim says Johnson got away with $30.00.
