Family of bride-to-be killed in crash releases statement

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The family of a young bride, killed in a car crash, is thanking Kentucky for caring for Ashlee Berry.

Berry was killed when heading home to her fiancé. She was hit head on by a van on the Joe Prather Highway. The driver of that van is accused of kidnapping three children and fleeing from police.

In a statement released by Berry's family, they say they are praying for the children to heal.

"As our family, friends and loved ones prepare to bring her home and say goodbye, we wish to take the time to thank the people of Kentucky for caring for her and for us. We, here in Las Vegas, NV, and other around the country are praying daily for those precious children to be well and for God and the people of Kentucky to surround their mother, friends and family as they heal."

The three children are listed in good condition as Kosair Children's Hospital.
