NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) – A trooper was injured in an early morning crash.
According to Indiana State Police, Trooper Scott Parkes was driving his police car north on Slate Run Road near Beeler Street in New Albany. Around 5:00 a.m. on June 10, Parkes went off the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons.
He then over corrected, striking an electric pole. Parkes was not on an emergency run at the time of the crash.
The 25-year-old officer from Floyd County has been a trooper for one year and was wearing a seatbelt.
He was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
