Women arrested for role in home maintenance scam

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two women are facing charges that they are part of a group which takes money for home maintenance repairs and never does the work.

MaryJean Williamson, 21, who is also listed as MaryJean Collins, and Lillie Williamson, 45, were arrested on June 9. Their arrest reports state the women were part of a group that went to homes and convinced people they needed to have their driveway sealed. The reports say very little work was done the driveways and the work was never finished.

On January 9, Lillie Williamson is accused of getting a $2,000 check from a man for work on his driveway. She said she was paid $200 for cashing it. MaryJean Williams is charged with doing the same thing on April 17 to a couple, collecting $650 for the $2,600 check she got.

Both women are charged with complicity theft by deception.
