Bourbon maker making donation to Old Friends

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (AP) - Wild Turkey bourbon is donating $25,000 to Old Friends farm that serves as a refuge for retired racehorses.

The bourbon maker says the donation was inspired by its support for jockey Rosie Napravnik during the Triple Crown racing season.

Wild Turkey says the donations to Old Friends were based on tweets of the hashtag #RideWithRosie leading up to the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes this spring.

Before the Belmont, Wild Turkey says it had already donated $22,000 to Old Friends from #RideWithRosie donation drives leading up to the other two races.

Old Friends has a farm outside Georgetown in central Kentucky that gives retired racehorses a safe, comfortable life.
