SHOALS, Ind. (AP) - Prosecutors have filed murder charges against a southern Indiana man for the knifing death of his adult son.
Martin County court documents say an autopsy found that 32-year-old Jonathan Tow of Shoals died from a stab wound to the neck that severed his carotid artery. Police arrested 60-year-old John Bruce Tow after he called 911 Sunday night to report his son's injury.
The Times-Mail reports the elder Tow told police that he swung the knife at his son trying to scare him after a daylong argument in the town about 40 miles southwest of Bloomington. Authorities say the autopsy found more force was needed to inflict the neck wound than Tow described.
Tow has been jailed and it wasn't immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
