LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police officers in Louisville will be going to new heights this weekend and it's all for a good cause.
It's part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run "Cops on Doughnut Shops" and raises money for Special Olympics Kentucky.
About three years ago, the idea came from Deputy Brian Bray with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Bray, who had leukemia and has since passed away, thought it would be a good idea to get up on the roof with Krispy Kreme. His fellow officers have carried it on since his death.
Look for the officers at the Krispy Kreme stores at 3000 Bardstown Road and 9596 Taylorsville Road from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
