LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - For Father's Day we're looking at a few afternoon clouds and warmer temperatures in the upper 80s. Even though today will feature a bit more humidity than yesterday, you'll really feel that humid air by Monday as temperatures reach or exceed 90 degrees for the first time in 2014.
A few isolated storms in the afternoon can't be ruled out on Monday but by Tuesday that chance will wane as a ridge of high pressure over the Southeast firmly asserts itself. That also means the highs near 90 will be again possible.
Storm chances will slowly increase during the afternoons from Wednesday forward as the ridge begins to break down but high temperatures won't budge much from 90 degree territory. Any day that does reach 90 degrees this week could experience heat index values in the mid 90s.
FATHER'S DAY: Partly Sunny, High: 89
TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy, Low: 70
MONDAY: Partly Sunny, Isolated Storm Chance, High: 90
TUESDAY: Mostly Sunny, High: 91, Low: 73
