LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police are asking for help to identify a man accused of threatening to stab a convenience store clerk during a robbery.

According to Audubon Police, the man went into the 24-7 convenience store, located at 2703 Preston Highway, around 10:40 p.m. on June 2.

Officers said the man walked behind the counter armed with a knife or other sharp object, demanded money from the cashier and threatened to stab her if she did not open the drawer.

Once the cashier opened the drawer the man reached in and took approximately $350. He then fled south on Preston Highway.

Police described the suspect as being in his 30s with a brown shaggy mullet hairstyle and a tattoo of cursive writing on the right side of his neck. He was last seen wearing a white ball cap with "Alabama" written across the front and an "A" below the wording, knee length cut-off jeans and red and black tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Audubon Police at (502) 637-5066.
