Mary Clayton wrote: "The Belmont is actually older than the Kentucky Derby and is seen by some as the ultimate prize. This tradition has been maintained for longer than the trainer of Chrome has been alive. I can see how giving the horses extra time to recuperate might be a good idea but that decision is up to the racing commission."
You were generally positive regarding our "New Era for Kentucky Kingdom" editorial.
Eddie Moore commented "Glad to see it back open. Such a waste to let it sit unused."
And Anthony Norris emailed: "Back when they were trying to secure funding through the state, I remember them saying that they had a plan to create a new entrance with free parking. I guess that plan was canceled, for now at least. I would not be surprised if that happens in the future."
And our "JCPS Budget" editorial elicited this response from Frank Kron: "Just keep asking for more funds for the students. When are we going to say enough is enough?"
