Construction headaches continue through weekend on I-65

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Construction headaches continue as a new section of I-65 is set to open this weekend.

One lane of I-65 South from the Kennedy Bridge to the Jefferson Street exit will be closed. The ramp from I-65 South to Jefferson Street will also be closed. Both are expected to reopen before 5 a.m. on Monday, June 23.

Traffic will be shifted onto the new roadway throughout the weekend. Drivers traveling on I-64 West and I-71 South to I-65 South will shift Saturday night. Drivers on I-65 South from the Kennedy Bridge will be moved to the new roadway Sunday night, and all traffic will be shifted by Monday morning.

Additionally, the ramp from I-65 South to the Gene Snyder Freeway will be closed Saturday, June 21 in the evening to allow for repairs to a control cabinet. It will close at 5 p.m. and is scheduled to reopen at midnight.
