Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A young teen is recovering after almost drowning at a Shreveport apartment complex.

The teen was pulled from a swimming pool after an accident at the Lakeville Townhomes, located in the 1100 block of Dudley Drive, Thursday afternoon. Police say a 19-year-old pulled the child from the water before first responders arrived on the scene.

The 19-year-old who pulled the teen from the pool says he didn't even know CPR, and tells KSLA News 12 that he just did what felt right. "I just always saw people doing it on TV. it looked like it worked."

The teen is expected to recover. No names have been released.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
