LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A suspect was arrested in connection with the deadly shooting in the Camp Taylor neighborhood of Louisville.

Donald Hayes, 67, is charged with murder, according to Carey Klain of the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Police believe that Hayes and the victim were involved in an altercation and pulled off the road. The incident occurred in the parking lots of Chase Bank and C.T. Haircutters at 4200 Poplar Level Road Saturday afternoon.

Kelly Hummelgard, who was getting his hair cut at the time, said he heard a crash and people inside the business acknowledged one of the employee's cars had been hit in the parking lot.

"He ran out there. He ran back in and said call 911," said Hummelgard, who described the scene they found. "This guy in his car, he was sitting there, he was unconscious, covered in blood. And obviously it wasn't from the wreck," he said.

The victim died at University Hospital after police found him in his car with an apparent gunshot wound, Klain said.
