Local tourism leaders launch an effort they hope will showcase the ripple effect tourism has on the local economy.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau launched the campaign late last year to get more locals involved with tourism. The hope is the money spent in the city doing things like visiting Canal Street and going to the French Quarter will generate sales tax revenue to fund more city services.
Yard signs and decals are now available with the message "New Orleans Will."
The five-year goal of local tourism leaders is to increase the number of tourists from 9 million to 14 million people a year.
