LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two men have been charged with arson after a barn fire on June 13. According to arrest reports, James Cline and Canyon Rains, both 18, of Louisville, were responsible for setting the fire in the 10200 block of Plaudit Way.
Metro Arson investigators say Cline and Rains intentionally set the fire in a kitchen inside the barn. The report says Cline used gloves used were thrown into the fire to dispose of them. Rains is accused of getting rid of the boots Cline wore when he left town for the weekend. Investigators say Cline kicked in the door to the barn while wearing the boots.
The report says Cline admitted to his actions regarding the fire.
Both Cline and Rains are part of a work program with the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice. The fire happened at their place of employment.
Cline and Rains are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of Arson, burglary and tampering with physical evidence.
