Kevin Harned says to expect more summertime heat, humidity

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A quiet start for our Friday will become a little more stormy through the weekend. A weak boundary will approach the area Saturday and I suspect will trigger showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.

With little in the way of upper level winds thunderstorms that fire up will be slow moving.  Heavy rain and lightning should be expected in locations that see storms. Temperatures will generally range near 90 degrees – the exception may be on Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 80s if clouds remain thick enough.  Another decent chance for thunderstorms will enter the region next Tuesday or Wednesday.

FORECAST

Tonight: Partly cloudy, few early evening thunderstorms, mainly south. Low: 72

Friday: Partly sunny, scattered thunderstorms (30% chance.) High: 90

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, periods of thunderstorms (50% chance) in the afternoon and evening. High: 88

Sunday: Partly sunny, scattered thunderstorms (40% chance.) High: 90
