NEW ALBANY, IN (News and Tribune) - A Louisville man was charged in Floyd County on Tuesday for having sex with a 12-year-old girl then driving drunk after he was chased from the home where the alleged sexual assault occurred by the child's mother.
Ellick Bottoms, 34, is facing a class A felony charge of child molesting, and misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Bottoms was arrested after New Albany Police Department officers responded to a home along Culbertson Avenue in the early hours of Saturday, June 21, for a sexual offense report. The child's mother told police that Bottoms had been at the home watching movies, and that she had gone to the basement after everyone in the home had fallen asleep.
She said that while watching TV, "she heard strange noises in the first floor living room," and she went to investigate the origin of the sounds. The woman said she discovered Bottoms and her daughter having sexual intercourse on the couch under a blanket.
