Driver charged with murder in Hardin County crash

HARDIN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – The driver of a truck that hit a car in Hardin County, killing one teenage girl and sending another to the hospital, is charged with murder and aggravated DUI, according to the Hardin County Detention Center.

On June 22, Michael Hilton was driving east on Deckard School Road when he hit the car driven by Brianna Taylor, traveling north on Patriot Parkway, Kentucky State Police said. Taylor, 17, was killed. Her 18-year-old passenger, Mickayla Harig, was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, along with Hilton and his passenger, his twin brother Anthony.

Beer cans were found scattered around the scene of the wreck.

In 2006, Hilton was sentenced to three years in prison for repeated DUI offenses.

Hilton was booked in the Hardin County Detention Center around 8:15 p.m. on June 26.
