LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man arrested in connection with a jewelry theft ring from stores across the country has made his first appearance before a judge.

Yussuan Chamizo, 31, of Louisville, is charged in connection with the burglaries of Genesis Diamonds on Shelbyville Road, Macy's at Oxmoor Center and Treasures in the Jefferson Mall.

During his arraignment an interpreter was brought in to make sure Chamizo understood the proceeding.

Chamizo is being held on a $100,000 bond at Louisville Metro Corrections. Police say they're still looking for two other members of the theft ring who've stolen from at least 40 stores in three states.
