High pressure in the upper levels will keep most rain away from the region through Wednesday.
Temperatures will soar into the lower 90s and heat index readings will to the 100 degree mark - Stay hydrated.
An upper trough will begin to erode the upper ridge and allow a weak frontal boundary into the area, helping to trigger showers and storms.
This will squash the ridge starting Wednesday night. Few showers return by Wednesday afternoon and rain chances will increase to around 30-40 percent for Thursday and the 4th of July.
The 4th, however, will not be a wash out! By fireworks time, most if not all showers will come to an end.
