A Jackson, La. woman who wasn't wearing a seatbelt died Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash, according to State Police.
The accident happened just after 10:30 p.m. LA Highway 10 west of Highway 961 in East Feliciana Parish. The victim was identified as 66-year-old Jo Ann M. Ryals.
The initial investigation showed that Ryals' Nissan Quest was traveling westbound on LA 10 when it ran off the roadway to the right. Ryals then overcorrected, crossed over the center line into the eastbound lane of traffic and ran off the road again, hitting several trees and a culvert.
Ryals sustained fatal injuries and died at scene.
While police said driver impairment is not suspected, toxicology test results are pending.
