BOISE, ID (WWBT) -

A powerful photograph of a baby's birth is going viral, both for the happiness it conveys and for the amazing story behind it.

The photo shows Andrew Hanson hugging Dr. Bryan Hodges shortly after the birth of his son, reports Today.com. It isn't the first time a moment like this has taken place between the two, which is what makes the photo so special.

The photography studio was in the delivery room 10 months prior to the photograph with the same mother, father and doctor. However, the child never took his first breath at delivery, for unknown and unexpected reasons.

The couple was shocked to find out they were pregnant again, so soon after, especially because of the trouble they had getting pregnant the first time. They think their first son was at work in the conception, photographer Sarah Ledford said.

The couple calls the birth a miracle because of the surprise pregnancy. The photo of the rainbow baby, as births after a miscarriage or stillborn birth are called, perfectly captures the joy and relief for both father and doctor immediately after the successful birth at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, in February.

Karson is happy and healthy, reports Today.com. His parents gave him Klayton as his middle name, in honor of his brother who died far too soon.
