An Empire man is accused of dealing marijuana and cocaine after a narcotics search warrant served June 27 netted more than $14,500 in drugs and cash, according to the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office.
Travis Latrell Riley, 30, was booked with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the presence of a juvenile and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Agents served the warrant based on a tip that Riley was selling drugs. Riley's two children were in the home when the warrant was served.
During the search, agents seized 5.5 ounces of cocaine, 1.5 pounds of marijuana and 11 tablets of Xanax. Agents also confiscated one 12-gauge Winchester shotgun with five shotgun shells. Additionally, items commonly used for packaging narcotics for resale were collected as evidence, including a vacuum sealer, plastic baggies, a digital scale, a razor blade, baking soda and a false canister.
