Chandler Police host Boy Scouts merit badge clinic and food drive

A group of Boy Scouts is helping to make a better Arizona by donating food to the homeless. On Tuesday, more than 100 scouts met with Chandler Police officers to learn about traffic safety. Each boy was asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the clinic.

Sgt. David Ramer said, "we challenged each of the scouts today to bring as much canned food or non-perishable food items to donate to the Salvation Army. And the goal is we want to make a dent in the hunger that is experienced in our communities."

The Boy Scouts completed 10 different stations on Tuesday to earn a merit badge. The focus was on law enforcement-related traffic safety.
