The town of Cave Creek has lifted an emergency water conservation alert after repairs were completed on some pumps.

The pumps had burned out because of an electricity outage, leaving reservoirs only 58 percent full.

The repairs were completed on Wednesday.

Residents had been warned to shorten their showers and curtail watering lawns.

The town had been keeping a cautious eye on the impact during the upcoming holiday.

"We have back to back days of fireworks and on those two days 8,000 to 10,000 people come into town because it's an annual tradition, thus the demand on water," Mayor Vincent Francias said as the shortage unfolded.
