Meth lab found in pickup truck after traffic stop

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people have been arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop uncovered a meth lab in their vehicle.

The traffic stop was made just after midnight July 3 at Ashby Lane and Greenbelt Highway. When detectives approached the Ford F-150 they said the driver, Daniel Joseph Hibbard, 37, of Shepherdsville, KY, had a large knife stuck on the dashboard.

During a consented search after being asked to step out of the pickup, police found a small bag of meth in Hibbard’s pocket along with Valium packaged for sale. A digital scale was found in the glove box of the truck, but officers also found a teapot meth lab on the floorboard of the passenger side at the feet of Jennifer M. Lee, 30.

Hibbard and Lee were charged with manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hibbard was also charged second count of trafficking in a controlled substance.
