LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man and woman were arrested for selling counterfeit passes to the Louisville Zoo.
Arrest reports say Amanda M. Bayens and Christopher D. Bayens, both, 30, were in the parking lot of the zoo on the morning of July 5 selling pass sheets for $10 each. A legitimate pass sheet costs $42.90, according to LMPD.
Louisville Metro police say when the Bayens were arrested they had in their possession 53 sheets of counterfeit passes in their possession worth $2,273.70.
A guest services supervisor for the zoo told police at least five people had used the phony passes to gain admission to the zoo grounds. Amanda and Christopher Bayens are each charged with theft by deception and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
