Convenience store employee accused of stealing lottery tickets

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A clerk at a convenience store has been charged with stealing lottery tickets and pocketing the cash from any winning tickets. 

According to an arrest warrant, Sharonda R. Askew, 22, of Louisville, took more than $500 in lottery tickets while at Speedway in the 4200 block of Poplar Level Road.

The warrant says Askew was captured by the store surveillance system taking the tickets, scanning them and taking money from the register. 

Askew was arrested July 7 on charges of theft by unlawful taking and unlawful access to a computer.
